It’s unbelievable that October really is here! Fall is my favorite season, but I’m just not quite ready for shorter days and cold weather! It’s upon us whether I like it or not and with that Thanksgiving is right around the corner! In Canada, we have Thanksgiving much earlier than in the US. So for this week’s project I went with a ‘Thank-you’ themed project that wasn’t specifically Fall but could work as a nice little thank-you gift all year through. I am loving all of the Fall projects though and can’t wait to see what the other Artisan’s have to share that might be fall themed and I know I’ll have some to share in future posts too!
Stampin’ Up! released the Envelope Punch Board recently and after giving it a try it has become one of my favorite products to play with! I’m loving the look of the file folder cards and thought it would be fun to turn it into an actual card holder.. so I made triple-use out of the punch board to create the file folder card, the envelopes for the notecards and added an envelope as a pocket on the inside of the card to hold note-sized thank-you cards. Have a look!

I have a lot of photos to share with you today in my attempt to help you see through photos how this card set works. I hope they give you an idea of how this cute set works as a notecard holder and card ensemble!
Here is the front of the holder all tied up to hold those notecards in.

You can see from this side view how it holds the cards.

It opens to this and you can see the set of two cards and patterned envelopes tucked inside. The polka dotted pocket that holds the cards is an envelope (sized for a notecard) made with the Envelope punch board. I cut off one long flap so that it would stay open on one end and rather than make a flat envelope, I scored each flap 1/4″ into the flap so that it would be more like a pocket instead of an envelope. It is lined with a piece of cardstock on the inside of the flaps and then adhered to the back of my file folder ‘card’ turning into a note card holder.

Two of this simple little card and matching envelopes fit nicely inside. I stamped the greeting with versamark and then heat embossed with white embossing powder (I wish we had a vanilla powder!). Once it was heat set I ran some chalk over the cardstock and added some gold embossing powder to the edges of the card by dabbing some versamark in random spots along the edge of the card. That fun little feather is from the Feathered Wood Cuts digital download. The feathers are cut out of the Modern Medley DSP and the Gold Foil sheets with an e-cutter (Sihouette Cameo) and are embellished just a bit with some Linen Thread.
