Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Retro Black Tie - Alanna Wharf, Sleepless Stamper

Welcome back to week two of our Artisan Wednesday Wow Blog Hop! That’s a mouthful! .. and it’s still pretty surreal that being a part of such a great group of people and talented stampers is something I am blessed to be a part of. I’m loving this honor and I hope you’re enjoying coming back each week to see what we have to share!

Now, on with the hop! I knew when I saw the Modern Medley DSP and the Gift Bow die that I wanted to do a re-make of one of my Artisan Entry cards. That card used two retired stamp sets and once I saw this die, I knew I could re-create it with all current product to give you new inspiration!

Once it all came together it gave me a feel of what I would think of as Retro Black Tie. It has a fun feel to me! Here is what I came up with.

I seem to have a thing for the Square Lattice embossing folder and paper piecing lately too! Here’s the vest and bow tie details.

To create the vest, it’s easiest to adhere the pennants (those triangles are punched with the pennant punch) to a piece of copy paper first. All you need to do is drawing a line down the center of your piece of paper to line up the pennants down the center first. You can start with lining up the short edge of the pennant (I started with the short edge of the black pieces) and then, it’s simple to just line all of the other triangles up to fill in the blanks. Once they were all attached and the paper was cut down to size and trimmed to the shape of the vest, I ran it through the big shot with the embossing folder.

That Gift Bow die is going to be useful in many ways. I’m glad to have it in my collection!
