Welcome to our Blog Hop showcasing our first project for the Stampin’ Up! Facebook Page. Be sure to head on over to Facebook and like the Stampin’ Up! page so that you can keep up to date and see all that SU has to share there!
The projects are all amazing today… who am I kidding, I’m always in awe of what these girls come up with! I hope you get a chance to hop through them all! You can hop through like usual by clicking the button at the bottom of the page to move on to Becky’s page next.
In case you’re starting here, I’ll start you off with my Around the World card. I love combining fun techniques. Inspired by Shelli’s segment at convention that showcased cards with movement as well as the trend of incorporating acetate in card design, I knew right away that I wanted to combine the two with the Around the World stamp set. This idea came together in my head while we were away on vacation so I was happy that when I put it to paper, it came out like it had in my head.. I love when that happens and let me tell you, it does NOT always work out that way! Here it is!

This stamp set has a lot of fun elements and before adding the road sign, the card was missing a pop of color so added the sign in!

I added in the World Map background to the inside of the card to pull it all together.

Here’s are some tips to help you get that curved slider slot:
The slot for the airplane to fly/move through is cut with the Circle Collection Framelits. To cut just a portion of the circle so that the airplane stayed at the top of the globe, I placed the top cutting pad only as far over the Framelits (2 sizes) as I wanted it to cut—that way it didn’t cut the entire circle out. Imagine the different paths your slider cards can take by using Framelits to cut the opening. Just be sure to keep a good portion of the shape intact so it’s just an opening and not a fully cut out shape. Want a photo of how this is done? Post a comment to let me know that you’re interested in seeing it and I’ll be sure to get back to my big shot to take a photo or two to demonstrate how I did this!

I had fun with this card.. and perhaps a little too much fun after it was all complete sliding that airplane back and forth ‘Around over the World’. One of our design team members (Jen) is a pilot, I definitely thought of her while I was creating this one! Now, maybe you have already been to Mercedes’ blog (loved her card and what she did) let’s go see Becky’s adorable creation.. I think I definitely have to be making a set like this for my boys! She did a fantastic job!
OK…I thought Jen was the only one who was allowed to make cards with airplanes! LOL! It is totally cool the way the airplane “flys”.
This is really creative! Nice work.
What a fun card!
This is incredible! Great thinking!
Awesome card! I love everything about it! You have inspired me to use my window sheets and to make an interactive card. I would love to see some more pictures to demonstrate the slider.
This is so awesome! Yes, I would definitely LOVE to see pics on how you were able to create this!
too stinkin’ cute! I am having way too much fun following you guys (girls)…
