Welcome back again today to another edition of Artisan Wednesday Wow! Thanks for coming back again to see what we have to share!
We’re back to hot weather here again and although my project could be very Christmas-y, don’t fret, I’m not wishing Christmas to be here just yet!
As a family we always add an ornament to our tree that symbolizes something that we experienced as a family that year or something that was significant to our family that year. I thought it was fitting this year to include an ornament that symbolized our family trip to the Stampin’ Up! convention in July. Since it is Stampin’ Up’s 25th anniversary this year, I figured I could make my own instead of buying an ornament this year. With inspiration from Shelli Gardner’s believe ornament that was on her blog last year and the Morning Post Numbers stamp set, it proved to be an easy task. I’m happy with how it turned out and have another special version I can share later!

Here’s a little closer detail. I cut the strips of Modern Medley DSP down to 3″ x 1/4″ strips and then curled them around one of the old style Paper piercers that SU used to carry. I tightened the rolls a little more before tucking them into the ornament so that they were nice and small under the ‘greeting’ inside the ornament. The numbers are stamped in versamark and then heat set with Pewter Powder. Behind the greeting you see is a duplicate and they are adhered back-to-back so that you no matter which way the ornament spins, you still see the greeting.

I love your tradition. The most special things on our tree are the ones with tons of meaning. Great job and one I think I might have to try – Rexene
