Spring Forward with Strength & Hope

Well if I wasn't already a Sleepless Stamper, this Spring Forward thing sure is going to make me one.  The day already just seems a few too many hours short for the number of hours I could easily fill … never mind losing one!   Oh well, if I were given more hours in a day, I'd just find more things that don't seem to get done, right?!  ðŸ™‚  Good thing we can't mess with time.  I guess I'll gain it back in the Fall and will love the extra hour of sleep we gain back then.  Thankfully, my kids handle it okay and easily adjust!

In the grand scheme of things one hour is so far from deserving of a moments consideration of what we 'lost' that I really can't even give it a second's thought.  There are much bigger things in our daily lives and in the lives of others around the World that merit our thoughts and our prayers.  If I could turn back time, I'd quickly take a pass and share the favor with the people of Japan and those affected so deeply by the tragedy they are experiencing right now.  I feel such sorrow for what they and others around the World who live in less than desirable circumstances endure.  While I feel deeply for those affected by such tragedy, I also feel hope for a brighter tomorrow.  Sounds 'cliche' I know, but whether that brighter tomorrow is far off in the future or found in little moments that we can appreciate much more greatly for being reminded of how quickly life can change & of just how blessed we truly are, I'll embrace hope and will pray for strength to carry survivors through to a brighter day.

To brighten your day I want to share one of my latest, Spring time cards with you.  I was able to share my day today with two groups of stampers.  My Sunday stamp club group, 'Wicked Fun' and with my wonderful downline group of demos, 'Sleepless Stampers'.  It was such a fun day and I truly enjoyed their company.  Today was a day full of much needed laughter!  I'm going to share one card with you that we created at club.  I'm really loving this set featured in the current mini catalogue, Easter Blossoms!  The little girl image is adorable and paired with Springtime Vintage DSP and Baja Breeze Seam Binding, I'm feeling pretty happy with how it turned out! I hope you enjoy!

This card is created with:

Stamps & Ink: Easter Blossoms, Early Espresso Classic Ink, Night of Navy Craft ink (image of girl)

Card Stock & Paper: Crumb Cake CS, Early Espresso CS, Very Vanilla CS, Naturals Ivory CS, Springtime Vintage DSP

Accessories: Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Oval Scallop Frame Die, Decorative Label Punch, Baja Breeze Seam Binding, Pearls, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Stamping Sponges & Cutter Kit

Other: Tissue Paper

I'll be back again soon to share at least one variation of one of the cards we created at my downline event.  We used an upcoming set, 'Strength & Hope' to create a card meant to inspire Hope for all things.  This set is going to be sold as a fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  I will definitely be putting this set to use and will join this wonderful cause.  Many of you know that it is a cause near and very dear to my heart as my wonderful Mom is a survivor of Breast Cancer.   For this card though, I wanted to focus on Hope for people around the World, so I strayed from the expected pink and came up with a variety of colours to select from (and a template) and gave the group some creative freedom.  I loved what they came up with for their last card.  Sharing in creativity and inspiration is definitely what we are all in this for!  Thanks everyone!

Have a wonderful week!  What are you hopeful for? What is your source of strength?

Until next time, take care!

  1. So after a terrible day I read your post and realized that my day really wasn't as terrible as someone on the other side of the world and that made me thankful for what and who I have in my life. You made me tear up! I just wanted to let you know that the card is beautiful! And I am looking forward to seeing you in a few days!

  2. Hi Alanna,
I too feel a deep sorrow for all of those people effected by the earthquake/tsunami in Japan.  Not only is the sorrow for those in Japan, but for family members who might live far away and anxiously await news from their loved ones.  I cannot imagine what torture it must be for all effected….we should be very grateful for being as fortunate as we are…..it is time to stop complaining  and to count our blessings.
By the way….love your card.  I am lucky to have gotten a peek at it last night at your demo gathering.  It is even more beautiful in person:)
    Hugs and prayers,
    Susie

  3. Your note is very touching.  My prayers and thoughts go out to all the people affected by this horrific devastation.
Thank you for sharing and also for these new cards.  Can't wait to make them.
