MIA = ER (squared)

Or ER2 …the little '2' won't work in my title!  …a silly little '2' is the least of my worries or workload!

I must apologize for being MIA and for my inconsistent blogging pattern or lack thereof since my fall down the stairs a couple of weeks ago.  Crazy how one incident can change or impact so much!  A thought that I'm sure rings clearly for so many around the World as we send help, hope and prayers to all the people affected by tragedy and especially to those affected by disaster in Japan.

We'll skip the whole story here, but I have to say that while it's no fun to sit in the ER and await a battery of tests, I'm very thankful that we live in a place where the option is afforded to us.  I've had a series of 'scares' since I fell down the stairs and spent Monday evening at the ER with new concerns from my fall and then after being given warning signs and almost passing out on my boys at lunch yesterday spent the day at the ER again.  The news played on the TV throughout our wait, so while there was concern enough for me to be there for the 2nd time in 2 days, I was incredibly thankful to have somewhere to go and somewhere to seek treatment!  I'm equally thankful that my tests were clear and that the specific concerns of the past few days are now at ease.  What I'm most thankful for is waking up to my boys smiling faces.  Keeping my thoughts and prayers with the people of Japan…. I can't complain.  I'll have some muscle and nerve issues to work out (as well as new colds we probably all caught at the ER), but truly can't complain!   …can't even call this a batch of 'lemons' … seeing as all is well, I'm abundantly thankful!

Thanks to all of my family, friends and club members for being so understanding these past few days as I've had to put classes on hold. I thank-you for your thoughts prayers and kind words!  I truly appreciate it! Thanks so much to a couple of extra helpful friends who cared for our boys and brought Ryan a 'care package', you are truly wonderful!  Here's hoping and praying for no more issues, no more trips down the stairs and treatments that work really well!  ðŸ™‚ Can't wait to craft with you again!

In the mean time, I want to share a page all about one of the blessings in my life that I'm most thankful for.   My son, Ethan turns 7 in 8 sleeps (okay 7 by the time you all read this)!!!  He's so excited! He's had a whirlwind of a week too, lost his front tooth, spent two nights at home without me (lost his tooth on one of them), is getting highlights for the first time for his birthday and is anxious about his countdown!  I'm so glad I get to be his 'Momma'!  This page is all about him.  …forgive me, I still have to do my journaling!  This page is for my March calendar for this year.  A good friend and I create a page together each month (or sometimes a bit behind)  ðŸ™‚  to put up on the wall.  Enjoy!

I used the play date rub-ons here to create a title for my journaling section and to add the owl.  The branch is from the Bird Punch.  Thanks to my downline member, David I no longer have to punch an Old Olive Branch and  Chocolate Chip branch and piece them together….thanks to his ingenuity it's as simple as punching one Old Olive branch and then brushing over the branch with the Chocolate Chip 'brush' marker tip!  Thanks for the tip David!  We all loved him for it when using this branch at card club!

As many of you know, I'm addicted to linen thread and our accessories…can never have too many buttons on hand!  I highlighted Ethan's age by accessorizing the '7'! …they really do grow up too quickly! …he even questioned me on the 'disorganized' number pattern in the paper.  …but he loved the page!  ðŸ™‚

This page was created with:

Ink: Chocolate Chip (sponged everywhere), Chocolate Chip Marker (on branch)

Paper: Pear Pizzazz, Chocolate Chip, Naturals Ivory, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Play Date DSP

Accessories: Birch Punch, 2 3/8 Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/4 Circle Punch, Linen thread, Brights Buttons, Play Date Rub-ons & Stamping Sponges

Can't forget, I got the sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.  Love their sketches!

I hope to be back soon!  I've got plenty of catching up to do.  One post I will be very honoured to post about is an award I was given a couple of weeks ago!  Thanks to Jodi Kutz @ www.jodikutz.blogspot.com for graciously giving me this award! I was so surprised and of course excited! Stop in at her blog to check out her work! Jodi, I'm looking forward to meeting you on the cruise!

A quick note about my classes.  The RSVP deadline for many of them has passed and I had promised some photos.  With my recent series of events I'll be extending the deadlines and will send out photos soon and will offer some of the classes a 2nd time.  If you are on my email list, please watch there or come back to my blog (or ask to be added to my email list for classes etc.).  I'll also be offering the birthday project class with a 2nd alternate date as I'll be using the 21st to make up my Monday stamp club.

Be well everyone!  Enjoy your day!

  1. Missed you!  Glad you're okay! 🙂  Apparently my "I only post every once in awhile" is contagious!  Resist!  Resist!  And keep posting 😀
    Love ya

    1. lol, thanks Leanne! Let’s make an agreement…I’ll agree not to let the ‘I only post every once in awhile’ bug bite me if you agree not to let the ‘fall down the stairs’ bug bite you, k?! Hope you are well. …maybe I should come see you for a massage?! 🙂 Thanks for the big grin! Hope to see you soon…and are you going to convention? Miss ya!

  2. Hi Alanna,
I am so very glad that things have turned out well concerning your tests at the hospital.  I hope that all is going well at home too since your ER visits.  Remember…try not to do two things at once:)  If youare going to go downstairs….PLEASE don't carry too much….or talk on the phone.  You have proven, very efficiently, that it is not a good idea.  Be a good girl:)
As for the scrapbook page…LOVE IT!  As usual, you are the 'Queen of Creativity & Inspiration'.  Hey…that is another moniker to add to your list!  All hail Her Majesty…..the Queen of Creativity &  Inspiration!  LOL  I'm just having some fun..I still prefer the Paper Trimmin Terror:)  The page is great and very adaptable to other subjects too.
    Keep well,
    Susie

ps  Congrats to Ethan on losing another tooth.  I hope the Tooth Fairy was generous:)  Also, what about limes?  Can't let lemons have all the fame.

    1. Susie, you make me laugh…I think I blushed more than a bit …’Queen’…well I beg to differ, but thank you so much for your compliment! Thanks so much for you prayers and for the angel you sent to help out the other day. We’re blessed to have your family in our lives, that is for sure! oh, yes, the Tooth Fairy was generous and played her role well! 🙂 No more limes or lemons for awhile..not for you either! …signed from, your Paper Trimming Terror Friend, Alanna

  3. Glad everything is ok–didn't know you had to go back to the ER.  Hope you are ok and no more trips to the ER or STAIRS!!!
    Take care.

  4. Glad to hear that you're doing better….I'm a bit slow on the news "of the day"….I can sympathize with the "falling down the stairs"…10 years ago, I did the same thing…but there is hope…I have an amazing Chiro…if you even need…he's been the only person that was able to treat my ailment….resting is important too!
Love the beautiful pages you've posted! Can;t wait for our next class…I've missed you 🙂

  5. Hope you are doing better!  That sounds terrible!
Wow, it's amazing how time flies.  I can still remember playing at your house when I was a little girl, and now your little boy is about that same age!
I pray for a quick recovery!

    1. Thanks Sophie! It is amazing how time flies. I remember staying at your place when my parents went away as well! I loved your Mom’s mashed potatoes! I’m much better and thanks for your thoughts and prayers!
