A VERY wise woman (one I'm not sure I can call my Trusty Sidekick or even refer to as a Super Hero, but rather your EVERY DAY kind of Hero who I look up to very much) once (or many times) told me…. 'When life gives you lemons, make lemonade'. She is the kind of person who leads by example to love and appreciate each day and to find good in each and every person around you or situation you're faced with. She displays true beauty even in the bleakest of times and I'm blessed to call her my friend or as she has lovingly been named to me by her Dad, my sister!
Now, falling down the stairs does not even tempt bleakness, nor does a card not turning out the way I want. (there has been many other a time that has seemed bleak, but these do not come close!) …but NO MATTER the situation I've learned from this dear charmer of a friend that I can let these lemons sour, or….I can make lemonade! I think I'll choose Lemonade, she makes a pretty good batch, so if I need some guidance, I'm sure she'll lead me?! 🙂 So before tomorrow comes and this motor seizes like one would on the aforementioned type of car motor would if you got a raw deal … I'll share some cards with you.
Do you ever have a plan in mind? A scheme of supplies and products you want to use, a vision in your head but when you get out your ink and stamps things just don't go quite as you planned…one of my cards for this month's card club went exactly like that! It's not what I'd planned (even in after 3 versions) and while I've never switched things up from one of my clubs to the next in a given month (I run 3 card club and 4 scrap book clubs), this time …I caved! This one changed from one club to the next. Still not my fav but I was determined to use these stampin' goodies! My goal was to use some of the fabulous Stampin' Up! Sale A Bration FREE items (Ice Cream Parlour Ribbon and Buttons and the Punch Bunch stamp set) as well as the Shaving Cream technique. The design just wasn't turning out like I'd planned… but alas, here is what I came up with. Again it's out of my neutral colors comfort zone. <wink>
This technique will not give you the same look twice. Each dip will turn out differently! Here's one to illustrate that! …..my back may just look all swirly and colorful like this tomorrow after my fall today!

This dear friend of mine was unable to make her club yesterday, turns out she had a few lemons to prepare for lemonade, so the rest of our wonderful club members pitched in and made her cards for her (and for another one of the Hero-kind who had to miss club), thanks everyone! So, Sister Susie, this one is for you! You definitely reinforce that no matter what life deals you (even if it's an orchard full), make Lemonade! Sorry you've been dealt so many baskets full of those shiny yellow juicy things this last while, thanks for your inspiration and friendship! I love how this card turned out, but I love ya more!

The above projects were fun to make. As Alanna was still experimenting with the owl creation, we tried out some of our own ideas. That was interesting, too. Thank you Alanna, for your continued love and patience in guiding your Mom through our sessions. Can't wait til next time…

hehe, sleep heals! 🙂 …and it goes without saying that my Mom taught me these same lessons from day one. I think I mentioned how lucky I am already, I'm more than twice blessed!

I loved making these cards in club last month and can't wait to see what you have in store for us this month. I think I'm going to have to join your scrapbook club next year as I love the ideas that you come up with . That shaving cream technique sure was a lot of fun, if anyone hasn't tried it you should. I still have to try this one on my own at home.
Sure hope you are alright, Alanna. Maybe they were right–a medichair sounds great, seeing as how three of us have done that LOL I really enjoyed making those cards the other night and my husband's shaving cream may go missing as I intend to use it to make cards. What an interesting technique–thank you for teaching us that. I also loved using the fabric to make the flowers-it was the first time I've done that.
To Susie–hope you're feeling better soon–missed you. I'll help with stirring the lemonade, too.

A big thank you and hug for all of my wonderful 'sisters'. Your love and support do more for me than any medication I could take. Also, a big thanks to everyone at Stamp Club for pitching in to make my cards for me……what a wonderful bunch you are! I know that I can always count on friends…and their moms….to help me stir the Lemonade because sometimes it gets to be too much for me. Now onto the cards……They are wonderful and lovely, and I so regret not being able to do the shaving cream technique one. Although I know what the steps to this technique are, I have never actually gotten to do it. Sounds like great time with this particular technique! I just might have to steal my hubby's shaving cream too!

My favourite subjects to photograph are of course my grandchildren, but also my own family and of course my dogs and cat–after all, they're family, too. My camera is better than my last one but I know there are many features on it that I don't know what to do with them–maybe I should take a class, too. Your pictures are so good and of course the boys are so photogenic. Glad your're able to go to your class today and that you're feeling better.
