Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ One Bag Wonder

Welcome back to week three of our September projects.  These are the projects that were featured on the Stampin’ Up! Facebook page last Friday!  I’ve seen them all already and you may have as well but I can say for certain this week that I was super wowed by what all of the girls on the team came up with.  Be sure to hop all the way through our hop this week to see some super fun projects!

I’ve got my One Bag Wonder to share with you.  I created 3 projects from one bag and love how they turned out! Have a look!

It all started with the Candy Roll.  This was an idea that popped into my head and then rest of the projects just came into play with all of that awesome Chevron bag that was left over!  The main portion of the Tag A Bag (Chevron Bag) is wrapped around a 2.5″ section of paper towel roll and adhered with the Halloween Bash Washi Tape.  The Hershey Kisses are ‘altered’ with a 3/4″ circle punch of DSP.  This would be a fun creation for any occasion!  I have missed our retired striped ribbon for the purpose of scrunching so when I discovered that I could do this with the Chevron ribbon, I was excited!  ..it’s a fun touch to add to a pail to dress it up just a bit.

This gittery Halloween tag came next.  I’ll be back this week with a tutorial on how to make the tag longer than what the chalk talk framelit actually cuts.

I wanted to come up with something fun for the strip cut off the end of the bag and it seemed perfect for a chocolate bar.  I cut all of the pieces of Chevron Bag with the small wave Rotary Trimmer blade.  That way it looked a little more like candy wrappers and I got to break in my Rotary cutter!

Most of the pieces are stamped with versamark, and then heated up with some heat and stick and sprinkled with glitter.. a couple of them are even glittered with a mix of black and orange glitter combined…that was fun! I’ve also sponged some versamark on the edges of my elements and glittered random parts of the edges for a little extra detail!

  1. What fun projects – I just love the chevron bags. And your gathered ribbon around the bucket is a perfect top off!

    Hi Alanna!

These Halloween projects are darling! I would love to recreate your “treat tube” for both of my kid’s classroom goodies… Just wondering – is it safe to assume that you can only get one treat tube per chevron bag? Should I plan to buy as many bags as I need treats? And did you cut the top & bottom off of each bag & then cut one side off to be able to use it as a wrap? Just hoping to recreate these as “smart” as possible since I have to make close to 60! Thanks so much!!!

    Hugs,

    1. Hi Christine! Yes, I got one treat tube per chevron bag. In case I didn’t mention in my post, I cut the tubes down to 2.5″ in order to have enough of the bag on either end to tie. Yes, I did also cut each end but as close as I could to the end as I could so as to leave as much tie-ing room as possible. You are right about cutting a section out of the one side as well so that there was just enough to overlap at the middle and tape it down with washi tape. Have fun. Let me know if you have any other questions! So glad you’re giving this a whirl! Hope the kids love them!
