Welcome to the Artisan Wednesday Wow.. Facebook FRIDAY edition! We’re back for a second time this week with the projects that were featured on the Stampin’ Up! Facebook page today!
Even though our winters are full of the real kind of snowflakes, I still love to craft with them. A recent issue of our demonstrator magazine featured a technique called ghosting. The article used Halloween stamps but I created this card to show how pretty the technique is with a winter theme.
I stamped two samples to show you a couple of different ways you can achieve this technique. You can keep it simple with white ghosted snowflakes, or create snowflakes stamped in a darker color and offset a little to add some extra dimension. Here are some closer up looks of the two different versions.
To get this look, you begin with white cardstock and stamp your image using Whisper White ink. Next, you brayer over top of the white images with a light colored ink (I used Pool Party). As you brayer over top of the white ink, the white images pop through the color. It’s a really neat transformation to watch.
Here is the second version with the snowflake (from Festive Flurry) stamped with Island Indigo Ink that adds a little more dimension.
I guarantee you all of the projects are amazing and super fabulous this week. Be sure to hop all the way through after me from Becky right through to Mercedes!
Beautiful – love this technique.
Well, my winters are NEVER filled with snowflakes unless I create them, so I appreciate all ideas to make them! These are lovely.
Beautifully done!
