Welcome to our January Facebook Friday Edition of Artisan Wednesday Wow! We’re excited to share our projects that were posted on the Stampin’ Up! Facebook page last Friday!
I mentioned earlier that my January projects were all Valentine themed and there is something I can’t help but love about the pop of color in your typical red, black, and white valentine creations! Valentine’s Day projects make me happy . . . they are created for your true love and for the loved ones in your life, and you can’t help but feel happy when you create projects for those you love! Happiness is also evoked through experiencing and sharing kindness. My family has taken on a kindness project of sorts, sharing and spreading kindness, not just at Christmas but always….it’s more like living with kindness than it is a project. This project was inspired by my Christmas Kindness calendar (that was featured on the SU blog in November) and will act as a way to count the days to Valentine’s Day. Each day from February first to February fourteenth, each family member will write down one thing they love about each of the other family members–and then we’ll share them all together on Valentine’s Day! I’m looking forward to watching our tin fill up and to sharing what we love about each other on a day that’s all about celebrating love! Hopefully it becomes a new tradition. Do you have any special valentine traditions?
I altered a clear paint tin that I picked up at the dollar store. I used a variety of products on this one. One of the most fun things was the silver thread from the Silver Baker’s Twine.. I had pulled the thread out of the gold twine for a different project and so it got me thinking that the silver and gold thread just on it’s own was a fun way to embellish a button! I love that little twirl of silver thread popping out from behind the button!
Here are the views from all around the tin. It worked out great to frame each of the boys and then us (mom and dad) and the boys together with the On-Film Framelits.
I created the tag with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and adorned it with banners from Perfect Pennants. The top of the tin was created by cutting words out of a variety of greetings and creating my own words with the Simply Serif Mini Alphabet.
I’d love to hear your Valentine’s traditions!
Let’s go see Becky’s creation, it’s gorgeous! Be sure to hop on through all of the Artisan’s projects. There’s a great variety in this week’s creations!
So, I had to come back with an update to share something that I missed earlier today. THIS fabulous Countdown the Love download was just released for MDS on Tuesday. It would make a great addition to my 14 things I Love About You tin. In fact, I think I’ll be getting it at just $8.95 to create the strips of paper that we’ll write all of our love notes on! … that little stack wasn’t going to be quite enough anyhow so now I can cutesy them up! Here’s what is included!
14 things I love about this project: 1)paint bucket, 2)adorable pics, 3) filmstrip die cuts, 4)glittered red heart, 5)tag topper tag, 6)Perfect Pennants stamps, 7)metallic thread, 8)baker’s twine bow, 9)metal button, 10)ransom note greeting, 11)basic black dsp, 12)cute, 13)adorable, 14)made by YOU!

WOW Alanna! I love this! And I TOTALLY love your tradition. . . we don’t really have one, but this is such a fabulous idea we just may be starting one this year! Well, that is if I can get this cute project made in the next day or two!
