Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ Love Notes

Welcome back again to another week of Artisan Wednesday Wow!  We are loving the new products in the Spring catalogue and we’re honored to bring you new projects to showcase them each week!

 We’ve also got some bonus posts that we’ll be sharing to showcase the samples we created for the Leadership Display boards.  Leadership was last week and so we can now share all of those projects with you all!  Be sure to check back to see all of those too! Each of us (all 10 Artisan Design Team Members) created 24..well, I apparently can’t count and I created 26!.. back to Kindergarten for me!

For our January posts, I ran with a Valentine theme.. if you are local and want to create any of the projects that I have to share, I’ll be doing some Valentine classes and will offer each of my projects to you over 2 different classes! Stay tuned!

Here’s my 2nd project.  I created a take on a notebook that I made for the leadership boards.  This version is for writing love notes to your love, or for your love to write notes to give back to you!  Have a peek.

The first photo is actually just the cover of the notepad without the belly band tied around it.  I actually started off with just the belly band tying the notepad shut but then the notepad looked ‘naked’ without the strip of DSP on the front once it was untied, so I added one onto the front of the notepad as well.  Here it is with the band tying it shut so that you can keep your love notes private! <wink>… the band is made by cutting one long strip of DSP to wrap around the note pad and then punching both ends of the strip with the Tag Topper Punch.

You can see here where that belly band ties around the notepad so that you can tie it shut.

I used the Silver Baker’s Twine to create the tie-closure.  Each side tucks through the hole of the belly band on the opposite side of the note pad and then ties in a bow and holds the pencil in place so that it’s handy to write your sweet notes with.

We got the Starburst Framelits in our box of goodies to create with this month and I just love them.  I used them here to tie in with a couple of hearts for a fun Valentine theme.  The piece of patterned background is actually cut from one of the Chevron Bags in the Annual Catalogue.  I love those bags for more purposes that just a treat bag!

From the side, you can see that you can just tuck the belly band under the cover to tie your note pad closed or you can wrap the band right around the front.

I’m having fun creating with this mix of DSP, cardstock and stamped images and my next couple of projects are sure to bring you more of this combo!  I’ll need to replenish my stash of DSP and cardstock and embellishments before my upcoming Valentine classes that’s for sure!
