Welcome back to another FUN & EXCITING WEEK of Artisan Wednesday Wow! This week we have a GIVE AWAY!
It’s really simple to win. All you have to do is comment right HERE below in the comments section or share our projects in a variety of ways… read on for more details! First, we’ll share all of our projects with you and be sure to stop at each of the girls blogs because you can increase your chances of winning a prize by entering at each blog. There will be two each of five different sets of prizes!
If you are a winner on my blog or for sharing my project you will win the Another Great Year clear-mount stamp set and Brights Designer Buttons so that was what I was asked to create with for you today and made the Brights Buttons the theme of this Birthday Party Ensemble! We had a (late) mini celebration for my son while his Grandmas were in town for Ryan’s surgery last week and so, I decorated this cake and made a set of projects to go with it.
The whole ensemble started with the idea of the banner and sign (standard card size) to go with the cake. I’m not much of a baker or a cake decorator so going with these fun and simple Kit Kat cakes was the perfect way to go for me! You can find a tonne of different Kit Kat cakes on Pinterest.. and sharing on Pinterest is just one of the ways you can enter to win the prizes here today!
Many of the Kit Kat cakes that I have seen have been filled right up with smarties, skittles or a variety of other candies. Some had fun designs or cute little scenes going on in them. I wanted the same theme to carry out throughout my whole ensemble so I just went with a few skittles scattered them to co-ordinate with the polka dots on my projects!
Again, because I’m no cake decorator, creating banners and a belly band for the cake out of stamps, paper and ink was more up my alley than icing was! The ABC -123 Outline Alphabet stamp set and ABC-123 Sketch Alphabet stamp set (BOTH sets are on the retired list, so don’t delay if they are on your wishlist!) made it easy to create whatever word I wanted to for this set. You could do the birthday boy or girls name or stamp a word to suit the occasion! I also used the Brights Designer Buttons and the Brights DSP to create a couple of Rosettes for a fun pop of color and to finish off the banner.
When I got ready to wrap the Kit Kat bars to hold them in place and to finish off the base of the cake, I didn’t have any ribbon wide enough so I made this fun belly band and embellished it with a rosette to tie it into the rosette’s on the ‘PARTY’ banner!
I made this Birthday Sign for the cake by choosing to go with a standard card size so that I could double-up on it’s purpose and use it as a card and also so that I could make more of this card later.
I punched the sprinkles from the cupcake punch to make the polka dots and used the same colors of cardstock as there were in the Brights Buttons collection. I stamped the greeting with Versamark Ink, heat set with Black Embossing Powder and then colored in the ‘HAPPY’ and ‘TO YOU’ with my white Signo gel pen.
Here is the set of Gift Bags and mini shaker card that I made to go with it. I had so many fun ideas of what I wanted to do with this set that I just kept creating!
All of the polka dots had me running with the idea of a confetti shaker card right from the start and I didn’t want to stop until I had one to share. This one is a cute 4 x 4 sized card.
The greeting is again stamped with Versamark ink and heat set with Black Embossing powder. I sandwiched a variety of sizes of circles between two layers of Cardstock Vellum and put that behind the polaroid style frame. That icing in the cupcake is filled in with Crystal Effects and then lightly sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds glitter! (The Dazzling Diamonds is also on the Retired List by the way..get it before it’s gone.. if it isn’t already!)
I love using lunch bags to create gift bags, favor bags or to give away treats! The big greeting on this set is an easy space filler to use to stamp right onto the bag or even if you want to layer the bag with layers of DSP or cardstock. I stamped it straight onto the bag with Versamark and again heat set with Black Embossing powder. I colored it with my Stampin’ Write Markers and then filled the background with my Daubers and co-ordinating ink colors … I am super sad to see the Daubers on the retired list.. I won’t be surprised if they are already sold out!
A couple of TIPS for you: I put a piece of cardboard (one of the pieces that come with a bigz die when they are newly packaged) inside the bag when I stamped the greeting and when I applied the dots of color. This helped to get a cleaner stamped image and also helped prevent the polka dots from bleeding through to the other side.
I also wanted to make a gift tag to go with this set and wanted to use as many of the stamps from the set to give you plenty of inspiration for when you win this great stamp set, so I made this little cutie to go on the gift bag! The bag wasn’t complete without some matching tissue paper so I Daubered (it’s a word now if it wasn’t before!) on the polka dots to match the rest of the set.
Here’s a couple of last photos to show you some closer details of the tag.
I might have a little bit of an obsession with ribbon too.. and that grosgrain ribbon is also going to be retired before long so don’t miss out!
In case you’ve skimmed through the photos, here’s a little reminder of what you can win for interacting with us this week! Please comment & share for your chance to win this giveaway!
Now, here’s how to win!
