Welcome to the first edition of Fancy Friday.
We had so much fun working together last year that we decided to stick together to bring you a Fancy new Blog Hop Challenge, Fancy Friday! On the last Friday of every month, we will bring a different/new challenge for you to play along with! We’ll be bringing all kinds of fancy projects and fun challenges in a variety of themes. Challenge themes will vary from color to sketch, to stamp set, to occasions, holidays or themes and all kinds of other fancy things! Our first challenge is a color challenge that was chosen by Becky. I fell in love with this set of colors AND the piece of furniture in the challenge so I played this one rather literally and instead of just using the color palette, I created my card to look like the fabric on the chair.. Becky might have sparked something in me.. now I want to decorate a room like this!
Here’s the color palette you’re going to create with but don’t forget to read on to find out how to play along!
… and here is what I came up with to go with the challenge!
Here’s a closer up view of the coloring.
I embossed a piece of Watercolor Paper with the Lovely Lace embossing folder and then colored it in (on the de-bossed side) with an aqua painter by dipping it in ink that I had smooshed on the lid of my ink pads. I kept the tip fairly squeezed out so that the color was vibrant and not watered down much. The centers of the Tangelo Twist flowers are cut from an embossed piece of Early Espresso Cardstock. I am really loving this color palette and can’t wait to create more with it!
Now, a challenge isn’t a challenge without a prize and of course to give away a prize we need some rules. Here’s how you can win the Seasonally Scattered stamp set (available in the 2014 Holiday Catalog):
1. Leave a comment on any one of the Fancy Friday Team member’s blog with a link to your creation. Comments/links MUST be left by Friday, September 19th 7:00 PM MST in order to be eligible for the prize.
2. Please use the color palette provided. You can use any combination or all of the colors provided as well as any neutrals. Although SU colors are listed, you can use any colors you have on hand as long as they are similar.
3. You MUST put a link in your post back to the challenge. *ONE lucky winner will be announced during the September Fancy Friday Blog Hop! (the last Friday of September)
I can’t wait to see what you create! Comment below with your link so we can all go have a look and leave some love in your comment section! We’ve got plenty of inspiration here so be sure to hop along to Becky next and all the way through to the rest of the girls projects! I can’t wait to see what everyone made!
