Artisan Wednesday Wow ~ A Father’s Day Photo Card

Artisan Dec Hop Button-011

Welcome to our final week of Artisan Wednesday Wow for the month of May! .. next week, we get to bring you projects made with product from the new catalogue.. can you feel the anticipation?! A new Catalogue is always one of the best times of the year!

For my last project this month, I created something a little different with Project Life®.   I’ll be running a Project Life Club and have been thinking of a variety of ways to use the product to go along with the standard Project Life® pages.  Today’s project is a result of those efforts which turned into this fun photo card!

You might be getting tired of seeing this photo, but I wanted to use it again since this card will be our Father’s Day Card this year.  .. and it comes to you with plenty of time to CASE for the Dad in your life!

I used the Project Life® Point & Click stamp set to create the background of my card. I’ll show you a few tips for that later on.  The label and the opening of the card were created with the Project Life® Framelits.  They are already becoming very useful!  I stamped the ‘we’ and ‘you’ with the new Alphabet Rotary stamp and the extra little details (‘love’, the striped flag, and the arrow paper clip) all come from the Project Life® Everyday Adventure Accessory Pack.

You can see here how the card opens.  I did not put a window sheet under the front of my card but if you wanted extra protection for your photo or extra stability for your card, you could add one in.

The photo lifts up on a little flap inside the card as well so that there is room to write a Father’s Day message.  You’ll see another view of that to show that it is also cut with the Project Life® Framelits.

Here’s that inside view of the card so that you can see how I’ve used the Framelits to make the photo insert for the card.

I stamped the inside of the photo flap with Teeny Tiny Wishes and the Project Life® Day to Day stamp set.  Of course we will use the Project Life® Journalling Pen to write our message in the card.

While I was stamping the year on this card I realized how easy it is to line up polymer stamps with a clear block and Grid Paper so I had to share this tip with you!

Here are a few tips on how to stamp the front of your card base without getting your stamped images on the back of your card as well.

You can see how I finished off stamping the background of this card base.  The polymer stamps (and Memento) ink made it a cinch to stamp this background without using a Stamp a Ma Jig and I really like this masculine combo!  I hope you’re inspired to create your own custom photo cards! I think I’ll be making more of this style myself!

Now, let’s go see what the rest of the team has created! Becky is up next!
